Kayenta Cliffs Dream
Perched on the foot of Kayenta Cliffs and surrounded by desert flora, this house embodies living in Kayenta deserts. The proximity to the cliffs, while incredible, made it a bit claustrophobic when framing-in the view of surrounding — we wanted to frame in Southern Utah's perpetually blue sky into the house. Our solution was lowering the roofline to include the sky for the master bedroom's view. By adding a high window above the fireplace, we brought in that view from the bedroom to the living room as well. The result is incredible views of the red cliffs and blue skies from every room in the house.
